Our Hero, Madalyn Markle Gentry passed away on January 2nd, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of strength and unconditional love. Born on February 27, 1953, she was a devoted single mother who poured her heart into her family, always leading with courage and an unyielding spirit.

Let us tell you about the strength of this woman. As a breast cancer survivor, she embodied a unique kind of strength that was forged in the fire of uncertainty, pain and hope. Her strength wasn't loud or boastful but quiet and a steady force that inspired everyone around her. The kind of strength that will be part of her family for generations.

As a talented hairdresser and entrepreneur, Madalyn brought beauty and confidence to everyone she touched, building lasting relationships with her clients, coworkers and community. Outside of work, she found great joy in being "Nanny" and being at the beach where she felt at peace.

Madalyn will be remembered for her fierce independence, unwavering love and the warmth she shared (and middle finger) with all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved Johnny Perry; her son Shane Gentry(Emily); daughter Jamie Anderson(Ronnie); grandkids Izaiah(Grace), Aaron(Taiyana), Cyrus(Emilea), Dakota, Holly, Jaden, Ethan, Chloe, Monica(Jaylene); great-grandkids Rashaad, Beau, Maylene and Kyrie; siblings Joey Markle, Mary Lu Stott(Nelson), Claire Smith(Jimmy), Caralyn House(Bob), Karen Bell(Larkin), Pete Markle(Sue); grand-nieces and nephews Joseph(Kayla), Jessica(Chad), Joey(Megan), Katie, Gini(Ari), Allie, Nick, Chris(Gwen), Tyler; and great-niece and nephews Annabell, Max, Lochlan, Palmer, Campbell.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529.
