Mancha Jo Boyd, A Beacon of Joy and Kindness

World's Greatest Grandma

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mancha Jo Boyd., who left us peacefully on March 2nd, 2024, at the age of 81, in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Born on August 11th, 1942, in Hialeah, Florida, Mancha's life was a testament to the power of kindness, humor, and an unyielding zest for life.

Mancha is survived by a loving family who will miss her dearly: her brother Jimmy; son Jerry; grandson Chris; granddaughter Lea; and numerous friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William, son, Billy, brother, Johnny, and sister, Bonnie.

Mancha's warmth and charisma knew no bounds. She was a friend to all, whether they were lifelong acquaintances or someone she just met. Her ability to engage with anyone, armed with a quick joke or a heartfelt conversation, was unparalleled. Her love for reading was insatiable, with a collection of books that spanned genres and authors, reflecting her wide-ranging interests and curiosity.

Married to Bill for nearly 50 years, their partnership was filled with love, adventure, and shared joys traveling throughout the US. Their trips spanned from the Florida Keys to Pennsylvania, Las Vegas, Nevada and many other destinations, as well as love for cruises and an annual vacation in Englewood Beach, Florida. Mancha's career at Disney Resorts in Vero Beach for 15 years wasn't just a job; it was an extension of her innate desire to bring happiness and laughter to everyone she encountered.

Mancha's legacy is not just in the memories we hold but in the lives she touched with her generosity, her spirit, and her love. She will be profoundly missed, but her light will continue to shine in all who knew her.

Though we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her remarkable life. A Celebration of Life will be held at Knightdale Baptist Church at 11am, on Saturday, March 9th, 2024. As a very fond lover of cats, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity Cause for Paws.

Bryan-Lee Funeral Home of Raleigh is assisting the Boyd family with arrangements.
