Margaret Credle Scott

CLAYTON – Margaret Credle Scott, 78, died Thursday. Born in Hyde County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Gratz Credle and Mable Joyner Credle. Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Sunday at Garner Free Will Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 3:00-4:00 pm Sunday prior to the service. A private family burial will be held Monday. Survivors include her husband Duane Scott; daughter, Kathy Scott Parrish and husband, Kent of Smithfield; sons, Kenneth Duane Scott and wife, Angela of Alpharetta, GA and Kevin Eugene Scott and wife, Sharon of Raleigh; brother, Jack Credle of Belhaven; grandchildren, Brandon Scott, Hunter Scott and wife, Catie, Makayla Scott, Michael Parrish, Meredith Parrish, Andrew Scott, Justin Scott and Abigail Scott and one great-grandchild, Phoebe Scott. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Katherine Hodges, Hazel Doerter and Faye Sadler.
