Margaret Franks

Margaret Franks, 90, passed away May 29, 2019. A native of Wake Co. she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Maggie Sauls Johnson. Margaret was a native of the Panther Branch Township. She grew up on her familys tobacco farm. She was married to the love of her life, James Lane Franks for 56 years. She was the best cook and loved sharing her cooking talent with her family and friends. She was dearly loved and will surely be missed. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Friday May 31 at Holland’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hwy. 10-10 Raleigh. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church one hour prior to the service from 1-2 PM on Friday. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband James Franks; and brothers, Paul Johnson and Dudley Johnson. She is survived by her daughter; Elaine Hocutt and husband Reggie; son, Jimmy Franks and wife Cindy; sister, Barbara Johnson; grandchildren, Tiffany Tew and husband Chris, Jamie Franks, Devin Hocutt and wife Leigh and Ashleigh Nelson and husband Greg; and great-grandchildren, Beatrix Franks, Hayleigh Nelson and Gregory Nelson, also survived by sister-in-law Betty Ann Johnson.
