Margaret H. Dail

Raleigh - Margaret H. Dail, 89, passed away peacefully Friday morning May 11 being held closely by her loved ones. She was born March 31, 1923 in Cary, NC to Paul and Gertrude Horton. Margaret was a longtime faithful member of Temple Baptist Church and in later years she loved to sing in the Sr. Adult Golden Tones Choir, attend the Bethany Hood Sunday School class and participate in events and outings with the Triple 'S' Club. Margaret was a graduate of Garner High School and Kings Business College. After College Margaret worked and retired after 26 years for Southland Life/Life of Georgia as Secretary and Office Manager where she formed lifelong friendships. Margaret was very active and loved to travel, cook, sew, garden and read. She loved with pride and passion her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and proudly displayed their pictures throughout her home. Margaret was preceded in death by her husbands, younger brothers and sisters and her beloved son George. She is survived by her brother Joe Horton of Lilburn, GA her children: Lorraine and husband Keith of Apex, NC, Brenda and husband David of Asheboro, NC, grandchildren: Dexter and Candice Weaver, Crystal and Erik Zimmer, John and Morgan Davis, Brandon Varner, and her great-grandchildren: Emily, John, Brie and Miley. One of Margarets favorite verses from the Bible that gave her hope and strength was John 15:5 -I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit;apart from me you can do nothing.' Margarets family wishes to thank all who helped care for her in her final years including the staff at Heartfields Assisted Living in Cary, NC and Heartland Hospice. The family will receive at 10:00amand a service in her honor will follow on Monday, May 14 - 11:00am at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC 27604 to be followed with a familyInterment.
