RALEIGH - Margaret Jean “Meg” Pritchard, 32, passed away Friday evening, July 15, after bravely battling a very aggressive brain tumor the final 2 years of her life. Born in Norfolk, VA to Alden and Linda Pritchard, Raleigh, NC was her home for the past 10 years. As one of faith, Meg was ushered into the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ where she was reunited with her maternal grandparents, Amos and Margaret Whetstone, her paternal grandparents Ken and Jean Pritchard (Dillon), and her uncle, Keith Gentry. Enjoying a wonderful life growing up in Virginia Beach, VA, Meg was a member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk for 22 years, making many lifelong friends that blessed the entirety of her life. She was a 12-year graduate of Norfolk Academy and felt it a privilege to have been part of the Bulldog family. Her fondest memories and greatest joy during her 4 years at Mr. Jefferson’s University in Charlottesville, Virginia was being a member of the celebrated University Singers. Meg’s professional life resulted in her relocating to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2012 where she began stints at McKinney Advertising Company and Kaio Therapy before finding her fulfillment serving on the Central Staff at Vintage Church where she has been a member the past 10 years. She was honored to be included in the inaugural Raleigh chapter of New City Fellows and leaves behind an invaluable collection of abiding friendships that enriched her life with love and purpose. In addition to her parents, she is greatly missed by her aunts and uncle: Nancy (and Keith) Gentry, Donna Gately, and David and Dani Whetstone, as well as her beloved cousins and their families: Drew Gentry, Landon Gentry, Matt Whetstone, and Allison Whetstone. The funeral service will be held at Vintage Church in downtown Raleigh at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 23 (Public Parking is available in the Wilmington Street Station Parking Garage: 122 S Blount St. Raleigh, NC). A private committal service for immediate family members will follow in Historic Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh. Visitation for friends and family will take place at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Raleigh on Friday, July 22, from 5:00-7:00 pm. The family would like to thank the esteemed doctors, nurses, and staff at the University of North Carolina Hospitals (Chapel Hill), Stay at Home Care, and Transitions LifeCare for their exceptional care of Meg during her illness.
