Margaret Lee Baucom

Margaret Lee Jones Baucom was born on February 12, 1945 in Durham County, North Carolina.

Both her parents were deceased at an early age and Margaret went to stay with Winston and Barbara

Jones.

She attended and graduated from Broughton High School in Raleigh, NC and was married to T. Jasper Baucom for 40 years.

According to their siblings, Margaret’s mom walked them to church every Sunday at Pilot Baptist.

Margaret was a Christian and she enjoyed singing in the choirs at the churches she attended. She most recently

attended Calvary Raleigh. She loved taking photographs, with her Polaroid, coloring artistic

drawings, and playing bingo. Her son, Russell Paul Baucom was her pride and joy.

She worked at Medlin Davis Cleaners in Raleigh, but spent the majority of her working life with Hardee’s

on 401. Margaret enjoyed greeting and serving customers at Hardee’s. She was given a retirement

celebration after 25 years of service to Hardee’s.

Margaret was predeceased by husband, T. Jasper Baucom; parents, Willard and Alma Jones; brothers,

Carroll, Daniel, George, Terry, and Winston Jones.

She is survived by her son, Russell Baucom, of the home; sister Ann Faison (Joe); and sister-in-law, Alice

Jones; brother-in-law, G W Baucom (Carolyn); and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
