Raleigh - Margaret Brundage, Raleigh native and youngest daughter of Rosa Lee Sadler and Walter T. Sadler, died peacefully on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at MayviewConvalescentCenter where she had resided for the past three years. Prior to that time, she resided on Edgewood Road in midtown for over 30 years and, before that, in Cardinal Hills in west Raleigh. Mrs. Brundage worked with the NC Department of Revenue as Supervisor in the Division of Accounts and with Secretary of Revenue Ivie Clayton for over forty years.Upon her retirement, she was presented with the NC Service Award from Governor James B. Hunt Jr.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Bruce M. Brundage, brothers Horace Sadler and W.T. Sadler Jr., sisters Edna S. Smith, Inez S. Barnes, Pauline S. Austin, Dorothy S. Davis, and Evelyn S. Edwards. She is survived by nephews Charles G. Smith of Roanoke, VA, Rev. Richard G. Barnes (Carolyn) of Hampton Roads, VA, J. Rishton Davis (Cookie) and Dr. B. Patrick Austin (Judy) of Raleigh, and a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews.The family wishes to offer special thanks to friends Lacy and Esther Presnell and the Mayview staff at Station III, with special appreciation to assistant Phyllis Cook and nurse Janet Jackson.Graveside funeral rites will be held on Tuesday, January 24 at 2:00pm, in HistoricOakwoodCemetery.
