ANGIER – Margie N. Thornton, 79, passed away Monday at her home. Born in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late B.A. Norris and Mabel Deal Norris Gregory. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 25th at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Burial will follow the service at Harnett Memorial Park, Lillington. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Margie is survived by her daughter, Renay T. Stanley and husband, G.W. of Angier; the father of her daughter, Renay, Sherwood Alonza Thornton of Raleigh; sisters, Alice Faye H. Rogers of Sanford, Judy N. Williams and husband, Stacy of Coats; grandchildren, Trey Stanley and wife, Michele of Fuquay-Varina, Nicholas Bunch and wife, Crystal of Fuquay-Varina, Nicole Long and husband, Steven of Smithfield, and Gabrielle Dyer and husband, Kyle of Zebulon; great-grandchildren, Grayson Long, Kylie Long, Leah Dyer and Wilder Dyer. In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Becky N. Carroll.
