Maria Masbate Glenn

Maria Masbate Glenn, 73, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2019 at Duke University Hospital after a long battle with skin cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sabina Masbate Gerra and her step-father Fortunato Gerra. She was from the Philippines, where she lived the first 23 years of her life, after which she married her surviving husband, Gary Sears Glenn. Had she lived 106 days more, they would have been married 50 years. She traveled with her US Air Force husband through nine assignments, working at different jobs on base. Other surviving siblings are Mario Gerra and Estrellita Mahandog in the Philippines, Narcisa Knight-Whiting (Daryl) in Portland, Australia, and Marlina Escasinas in Vancouver, Canada. Surving in-laws include Lynette Glenn McDaniel (Bill) in Martinsville, VA and Valerie Glenn Pearce (James) in Wendell, NC. A graveside service at Montlawn Memorial Park will be Sunday September 29th,2019 at 3:00 PM, when her cremated remains will be inurned.
