Marian Tumlin Smith

Raleigh- Marian Tumlin Smith, 80, died Thursday. Born in South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Palmer Tumlin and Bessie McAllister Tumlin. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday at Highland Baptist Church, Raleigh. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Clayton. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, James D. Smith; sons, Mark Smith and wife, Jennifer of Garner and Dale Smith and wife, June of Swansboro; grandchildren, Travis Smith and wife, Megan, James Tyler Smith, Madison Smith and Hunter Smith; sisters, Barbara Turner of Dallas, TX, JoLyne McFadden of Easley, SC, Nancy Turner of Pacolet, SC; brothers, Leon Tumlin and James Tumlin, both of Easley, SC.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenna Smith in 1990. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Friday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
