Marie Burgett Stephenson

Fuquay-Varina- Marie Burgett Stephenson, 83, passed on Tuesday at Emerald Health and Rehab in Lillington. A native of Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late James and Eliza Jane Burgett. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 4th at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Marie is survived by her daughter, Rose Massey and husband, Tracy of Leland; sons, Tommy “Eugene” Stephenson and wife, Mary of Raleigh, Ron Stephenson and wife, Tammi of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren, Ray Stephenson and wife, Tiffany, Michael Stephenson and wife, Melissa, Cameron Stephenson and wife, Kristin, Courtney Hibbard and husband, Charley, Lori Williams and husband, Jimmie, Brandon Stephenson and wife, LeighAnne, Renae West and husband, James, and Audrey Massey Fleischer; great-grandchildren, Ryan Hibbard, Victoria Moore, Brianna Stephenson, Trevan Hibbard, Gracie Stephenson, Lexie Moore, Tyler Fleischer, Andrew Fleischer, Brayden Stephenson, Gabi Williams, Eva Johnson, Savannah Stephenson, Garrett Williams, Jacob West, Nicholas Stephenson, Cassidy Hibbard, Jacob Fleischer, Delaney Hibbard, Kyndall Stephenson, Shayna Stephenson, Dylan Stephenson, Tanner Stephenson, Jamison West, Jackson West and Joshua West; great-great-grandson, Levi Green; sisters, Grey Britt and husband, Alton, Carolyn Sessoms and husband, Terry, Myrtis Westbrook ; brother, Ellis Burgett and wife, Darlene. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Tommy Stephenson; sisters, Annie Ruth, Nancy, Eula, Lexie, Hazel, and Mary Letha; brothers, Robert and David; granddaughter, Shannon Massey.
