Marie Theresa Riti

RALEIGH - Marie Theresa Riti, 89, passed away on Saturday, January 28.  Born in Poughkeepsie, New York on April 15, 1927, she was the daughter of Andrew and Rose (Melito) Digilio.  On July 28, 1946 she married  Rocco Charles Riti  of Yonkers, NY. Rocco died on April 13, 2002. In 2009, Marie moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to be with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Formerly, she worked in a coat/dress factory. She had a love for fashion and shopping.   Some of her favorite pass times were bingo and playing cards.  She enjoyed cooking, social gatherings and most importantly her family and friends.  She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Riti is survived by her daughters, Michele (Jeffrey) Jones of Raleigh and Patricia (Christopher) Canino of Wake Forest; a brother, Leonard Digilio; grandchildren, Brendan (Sarah) Jones, Jennifer (Brent) Richardson, Melissa Jones, Scott (Nicole) Jones, and Andrew Canino; great-grandchildren, Haley Richardson, Isabel Jones, Noah Jones, Hayden Jones, Carter Jones and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Riti was preceded in death by a grandson, Louis Canino and two brothers, Frank & Joseph Digilio. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4, at 11 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.  The family will receive friends at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Raleigh from 4:30 until 6:30 PM on Friday, February 3. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association.
