ANGIER- Marie Young Beasley, died peacefully in the home of her daughter in Raleigh, on Thursday, March 18, 2021, after a long battle with heart failure and other health issues. She was 82 years of age; born August 14, 1938. She enjoyed a wonderful 60 years of marriage to George Beasley, prior to his death in 2017. She was the daughter of the late Willie H. and Alpha Denning Young. Marie spent her life as a wife, mother, and friend. For many years she excelled as a sales representative for Stanley Home Products, a career she truly loved and enjoyed. It was also a career which allowed her to make many lifelong friends. Marie’s family will greatly miss her sense of humor and love. Among those who will miss her are her daughters: Gloria Taylor (Dean) of Raleigh and Susan Lagle (Owen) of Denver, North Carolina; Granddaughters: Sarah Taylor and Makayla Bullock, Special Son-in-law: Steve Bullock. Sisters-in-law: Gloria Young of Knightdale and Flora Young of Angier; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Marie loved her family greatly and her friends almost as much. In addition to her husband and parents, Marie was preceded in death by her brothers: Larry Young, Jake Young, Willie Young and Claude Young; as well as her sisters Bessie Beasley and Vada Barbour. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 21 at Lakeside Memorial Gardens at 2:00 P.M. All are welcome. Marie will be available for visitation and viewing at Bryan Lee Funeral Home in Angier from 3pm - 7pm on Saturday, March 20. The family wishes to extend special thanks to many who helped care for our mom in many ways during these last few years of her illness. Her caregiver for the last several years, Mary Reed, was extremely special to Marie from the beginning; they had a very special bond. Mary was a gift from God for Marie and the family. The family thanks her for all of the compassion and genuine love she showed to Marie. In addition, Amber Wilder, Denise Kelsey, and Diane Sorrell were extremely dedicated in their care and concern for mom; the family sincerely thanks them. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Angier Public Library. Mom spent the last years of her life with only reading to keep her occupied. The staff there, especially Michael, were so considerate to pull large print books for her, having a stack ready for her at a moment’s notice, knowing her favorite topics and authors; making sure she had whatever she needed. They were a huge support to her and her love of reading. She cared a lot about the staff and appreciated them so very much. Finally, the family would also like to extend a special thank you to the care team at Transitions Lifecare Hospice, including Lauren Daniels, RN., who spent the last day of Mom’s life keeping her comfortable - until she took her last breath. Many thanks also to Julie Hartzell, Social Worker, Justin Williamson, Spiritual Care and Jessica Rutherford, CNA. Flowers or Memorials are appreciated. Memorials may be made to Coats Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church PO Box 53, Coats NC 27521 and to Transitions Hospice at 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
