Marilou Harrell Hansen, 76, passed away at home after a long battle with dementia. A native of Athens, Georgia, Marilou was the daughter of the late Joseph and Grady Lou Harrell. Marilou was an amazing mother and wife. Marilou enjoyed cooking, traveling, the mountains and spending time with her family. Marilou, a young southern girl fell in love with a northern boy and together they raised a family of five girls. They shared a faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and chose to raise their children to love Jesus. Marilou supported her husband in ministry and cared for her growing family by opening their home to friends and family. She loved and was loved by so many people. Marilou loved traveling to their beloved mountain house and various other destinations. Due to current health concerns, the family had a private graveside service. Along with her parents Marilou was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Arthur Hansen, a brother, Russell Harrell and brother-in-law Charles Tucker. Marilou is survived by daughters; Lisa H. Powell and husband Mark, Sharon H. Pierce and husband Kevin, Julie H. Paul and husband Ralph, Kimberly H. Baker and husband Scott and Mindy J. Hansen Weaver and husband John Weaver; sister, Henrietta Tucker, fifteen grandchildren; Maribeth Powell, Brandon Powell, Hansen Powell, Connor Pierce, Sydney Pierce, Mia Pierce, Noah Paul, Abbie Paul, Caleb Paul, Grace Baker, Lilah Baker, Thomas Baker, Tucker Bryant, Mason Bryant and Nellie Mae Hansen; sister-in-law Becky Harrell along with extended family. The Hansen family would like to extend its gratitude for all the kind words and prayers from friends and family during this difficult time.
