Marion Brown Neal

Ms. Marion Brown Neal, age 86 of Raleigh, NC died Sunday, May 14, 2023 in the SECU Jim and Betsy Bryan UNC Hospice Home, Pittsboro, NC. She was born August 28, 1936 in Lincoln County, NC to the late George Marion and Thelma Elizabeth New Brown and the widow of Bobby Gene Neal. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Lou Harwell, Jean Stewart and Bette Hurlocker.

She is survived by her daughters, Wendy Neal Galyean and her husband, Mickey of Raleigh and Bobbie “Gena” Neal of Apex; her grandchildren, Marsha Diggs and her husband, Dan, Michael Galyean and his wife, Shelby and Christopher Bobby Neal; five great-grandchildren and three great, great-grandchildren.

Marion was a founding member of Macedonia Baptist Church on Holly Springs Road. She retired from North Carolina State University after working for 55 years.

Her visitation will be held Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 12:00 to 12:45 PM in the Macedonia Baptist Church, 7100 Holly Springs Rd., Raleigh, NC 27606.

Her funeral service will be held Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the Macedonia Baptist Church with entombment to follow in the Montlawn Memorial Park.
