GARNER – Stevenson, Marjorie Esther (nee Clark) Passed away peacefully on February 7, 2022 in Garner, North Carolin at the age of 94. Marjorie was born on November 3, 1927 in Kalamazoo Michigan to Earl Gilbert Clark and Ethel Gertrude Race. She is survived by her four children Kayla Diane Stevenson (Richard Keltie), James Clark Stevenson (Sharon), Karen Annette Stevenson (Jimmie Daniel) and William George Stevenson (Ronnie), ten grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald George Stevenson January 7, 2005; sisters Janet Ethel Hoyt and Virginia Ruth Nolan. After graduating from Kalamazoo Central High School Marje worked as an office assistant for several companies including Kalamazoo Vegetable Parchment and Upjohn Pharmaceuticals and as a legal assistant. Her most recent position was with Kreis, Enderle, Hudgins & Borsos P.C. where she enjoyed working until age 75. Marje and her husband Don moved from Kalamazoo to Climax, Michigan in 1991. Don served on the Climax Village Council, and as Climax Village President for six years. After he died in 2005, she remained in Climax until moving to North Carolina in 2009 to be near three of her children. Marje grew up in a musical world, playing the violin from an early age. She and her husband played in the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra for many years, instilling a love of classical music particularly in her oldest daughter Kayla, who remembers attending symphony concerts as a young child. Her daughter was inspired to study the violin and eventually played in the Kalamazoo Symphony herself. In Michigan, Marje enjoyed riding her horse Ginger in the countryside. She also enjoyed many camping trips all over the United States and across Canada. She loved her dogs, and was never without one and sometimes two, from great danes to a small dachshund who was with her until her final days. Visits with her always included lovely walks with the dogs. A woman of faith, she always enjoyed attending Hilltop Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina and the online services when she couldn't attend in person. Although family and friends will deeply miss Marje's love of life and strong spirit, we are grateful for her long and fulfilled life. The family plans to have a small graveside service in Climax, Michigan later this year to lay her ashes to rest next to her husband in the Prairie Home Cemetery.
