Martha Elizabeth Rambeaut Britt

Garner - On Thursday, September 8, 2011 Martha Elizabeth Rambeaut Britt was wrapped in the arms of Jesus and welcomed into Heaven where she found comfort and peace like none she has ever known. Marthas earthly journey began on October 24th, 1927.She was the 4th of 10 children born to Riley and Mollie Rambeaut.She grew up in Harnett County where she worked on the family farm and helped take care of her younger brothers and sisters. Martha worked at Dorthea Dix Hospital for 30 years and has enjoyed retired life for the past 33 years. She may have retired from her job, but she never stopped working.She was a strong Christian woman who shared her faith, not only through her words, but also through her actions. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC.A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 10th at 11 AM at Fellowship Baptist Church, 5029 Old Stage Road Raleigh, NC 27603 .A time of visitation will be held before the service beginning at 10 AM.Marthas mother and father, along with her brothers Gene, Bob, Rufus, and Walter Rambeaut, and her sister Mabel Inman preceded her in death. Linwood Britt, her husband of 63 years, and her daughter Joy Britt Wade, are left to treasure their memories of her, along with her son in law Bob Wade, and her two grandsons Matt and Chris Wade, all of Wilmington.Her brothers Willis Rambeaut and his wife Barbara, Lewis Rambeaut and his wife Dot, and her sisters Mary Bender and Rachel Price Fulcher and her husband Albert are left to treasure their memories.Martha also had an extended family which included the staff of Clarebridge of Wilmington. There she had many adopted daughters and sons who cared for her and loved her over the past 2 years.
