Martha Elizabeth Johnson, 92, died March 24, 2021. Martha was a loving and loyal wife, a supportive and adoring mother and an amazing and dedicated grandmother. She had an intense love for her family, and an equally strong passion for fishing. Mama, as she was affectionately known, was an amazing cook and was notorious for her huge family dinners she prepared every Sunday. She was the glue that kept her family together and will be missed every single day. She was an avid BINGO player, and if you knew her, you knew that an elephant with the trunk up was good luck! She was the daughter of Callie Excell Adams and Walter Thomas Gilmore. Martha retired from Dun and Bradstreet after 30 years of service, after which she spent many years at International Coiffures Salon in Raleigh NC, where she was known, not only a receptionist, but as a friend to everyone that walked in to get their hair done. She was proceeded in death and finally reunited with her husband, and love of her life, J.B. Johnson. Martha was survived by her two daughters: Marsha Patterson (Ron), and Sue Blow (Steve); granddaughters: Sandy J. Olson, Michelle B Edwards, and Brandi B Seagroves; grandson: Louis Alexander III; and multiple great and great-great grandchildren. She was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00PM Monday, March 29, 2021 graveside at Raleigh Memorial Park.
