Martha Holder Driver

Raleigh - Martha Holder Driver, 73, of Raleigh, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 21, 2013 after a courageous year-long battle with esophageal cancer. Martha was born in Raleigh on May 11, 1940 to the late C.E. and Flonnie Holder. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Driver, in 1998. Martha was a life-long member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and served as the church secretary for 26 years. She was also a member of the Outreach Club, Shepherding Committee, and the Joy Sunday School class at Ebenezer. Martha loved to crochet and quilt and made many beautiful crafts throughout her lifetime. She is survived by her son, Todd Driver and his wife, Leslie, and she was known as GaGa to her grandchildren, Mason and Hayden Driver of Raleigh. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Montague of Raleigh and special caregiver and sister-in-law, Patsy Faircloth of Fuquay-Varina, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 6-8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Rd., Garner, NC. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 6020 Rock Quarry Rd., Raleigh, NC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Building Fund, 6020 Rock Quarry Rd., Raleigh, NC 27610. The family wishes to thank the physicians, nurses, and staff at the Duke Cancer Center in Durham and Raleigh and the staff at Heartland Hospice for their care during Marthas illness.
