Martha Louise Wells, 62, of Garner passed away unexpectedly at her home last Wednesday. She was born February 14, 1951, at St. Leos Hospital in Greensboro, NC, and is the daughter of the late Otto Wells and Rubye Adkins Wells of Garner. Martha was the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director of the NC Small Business Technology and Development Center for over 25 years, and retired in June 2010. She is survived by her sister Linda Wells of Santa Fe, NM; niece, Corey Hanley of Providence, RI; nephew, Wells Hanley and wife Maria Yefimova, and great nephew Alexander Hanley of Richmond, VA. She also leaves behind her beloved rescue cocker spaniel, Sally Ann, and many close friends who are too numerous to name. Martha touched everyone she met with her infectious smile, grace, sparkling wit, and calming nurturing presence, and she will linger in our hearts forever. “You know that place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming? Thats where Ill always love you. Thats where Ill be waiting.” The family will receive friends Thursday, June 27th, from 1-2 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner, with a funeral service to follow at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may also be made to the SPCA of Wake County, 200 Petfinder Lane Raleigh NC, 27603.
