Martha S. Faison

Martha Ridley Stephenson Faison, 87, passed away on Tuesday, July 20th, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, after a sudden illness. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 23rd at 2:00pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Reverend Phil Bowden and Norman Young will be speaking at the service. The burial will follow at White Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Willow Spring. The family will receive friends and family at the home of Mrs. Faison. Mrs. Faison was born in Johnston County to the late Clingmon and Betty Johnson Stephenson. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Andrew (Jay) Faison; brother, Harvey Stephenson; and sisters, Elsie Morris, Mae Morris, Lunette Langdon, Hazel Johnson, Goldie Young, Ada Bowden, Beatrice S. Dobbs, Reba Vaughn, Bernice Coats, and Clevene Walker. Mrs. Faison retired from the state after working for many years in Raleigh. Martha is survived by her sister, Rachel S. Parrish, who was also her best friend. George Dean, who was her dear companion for many years. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, whom she cared about deeply, especially Joy Cox and her husband, Rick, who helped her in her later years. The family would like to say “Thank You” to her caregivers from Senior Helpers in Dunn but most of all to Dee Dee Ennis, who took care of her and Rachel. These ladies allowed Mrs. Faison to stay in her home for several years. Visitation will be held Friday, July 23rd from 1:00-1:45pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Flowers are welcome.
