WILLOW SPRING- Marvin Mitchel Spivey, 85, went to be with the Lord on March 28. He is preceded in death by
his wife, Treva Ogburn Spivey. He was the son of the late Marvin Lafayette Spivey and Margie Pollard Spivey.
Mitchel loved the Lord, his family, and his friends. He enjoyed working on his farm raising cows and
spending time at his cabin in the mountains. Most of all, he loved the special times he spent with his
family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 3rd at 2:00 pm at Fellowship Baptist Church, Willow Spring.
Burial will follow the service at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the
service from 12:30-1:45 pm and after the committal.
Mitchel is survived by his daughter, Michele Tobey (Bob) of Leland; sons, Mickey Spivey (Karen) of Raleigh and
Marty Spivey (Annette) of Coats; sister, Bobbie Rhodes of Fuquay-Varina; brother Glenn Spivey (Helen) of Fuquay-Varina;
sister-in-law, Debra Spivey of Raleigh; grandchildren, Kristie Spivey and Robin Spivey both of Coats, Josh Tobey (Ramsey)
of Wilmington, Matt Spivey (Holly) of Winston-Salem, Leigh Spivey-Rita (Jen) of Durham; great grandchildren, Noa, Maggie,
Elliott, Rowan, Everett, and Miller.
Mitchel is also preceded in death by sisters, Daisy Currin and Mary Ann Wortham, and brother, Clinton Spivey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mitchel’s memory to Fellowship Baptist Church,
1701 Bud Lipscomb Rd., Willow Spring, NC 27592, the American Heart Association (heart.org), or a charity of your choice.
