Mary Alice Sovran

GARNER– Mary Alice Sovran, 85, of Raleigh, passed away October 12, 2021. Born in Detroit, MI, Mary is the daughter of the late Eber and Alice Wilson. Mary spent 20 years in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado in a resort town, where she was a retail business owner. She sold a combination of women’s fashions and other gifts. Mary loved animals, especially, her beloved cat Molly. She was an award-winning quilter and enjoyed sharing her passion for quilting with others. Her favorite time of the day was when there was peace and quiet. Mary also enjoyed helping Charles, her life partner, teach others mindfulness meditation and guiding them on their life journey. She was the co-founder of the Mindfulness Meditation Institute. A Memorial service will be 3:00 PM Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, Garner. Mary is survived by her life partner, Charles Francis, and brother, Dennis Wilson. Mary is also preceded in death by her brother, William “Bill” Wilson.
