Mary Eleanor Mclamb Fowler

July 8, 1930 - February 15, 2012 Raleigh- Mary Eleanor McLamb Fowler, 81, of Raleigh died peacefully Wednesday afternoon. She is now in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ and her husband Sinclair of 61 years. Born in Johnston County she is the daughter of the late James Henderson McLamb and Ida Wheeler McLamb. She is the widow of Sinclair Bowen Fowler, Jr. who died in 2008. Mary was a very active member of Temple Baptist Church for over 40 years and retired from the Baptist Book Store in Raleigh. She is preceded in death by her three sisters: Doris Killough; Thelma Britt; Mozelle Carter and her brother: Carl McLamb. She is survived by her faithful daughter Mary Fowler Bailey and husband, L. G. Bailey of Apex; her most beloved grandchildren, Lisa Bailey; Travis Bailey of Raleigh and her sister, Mrs. Jewell Whittingham of Coats. The family wants to thank Sunrise at North Hills, Raleigh for the kindness and compassion they showed her during the last four years. A Celebration of Marys life will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Temple Baptist Church, 1417 Clifton Street, Raleigh, NC 27604. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center at the church. Private family Burial Rites will be in Historic Oakwood Cemetery.
