Mary Elizabeth Maynard Sparks

Mary Elizabeth Maynard Sparks stepped into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 23rd at her home. Daughter of the late John William Maynard, Sr. and Beulah Mashburn Maynard, Elizabeth was born in Monroe, NC, on January 28, 1928. Elizabeth was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church and leaves behind many dear loved ones.

A Celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM, in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, Garner. The family will receive friends from 12:00-12:50 PM. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

Elizabeth is survived by a son, Jonathan Sparks, of Garner; daughter, Ruth Sparks Knight, of Garner; grandchildren, Cyndi Draxinger and husband, Mike, of Wendell, Thompson Knight, of Cary, and Jeremy Sparks, of Garner; several beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Jerry Sparks; brother, John William “Sonny” Maynard, Jr.; and sister, Doris Ann Maynard Bell.
