Mary Estelle Jones Lawrence

Mary “Estelle” Lawrence, 101, passed away peacefully at her home on May 12, 2023. Estelle was born September 22, 1921, in Willow Spring, NC, to Kenneth Thomas and China Christiana Blalock Jones.

A devout Christian, Estelle was a lifelong active church member and the last surviving charter member of Carolina Pines Baptist Church. She served for 15 years as the supervisor of the primary department.

Estelle was loved by everyone who met her for her kindness, compassion, generosity, and selflessness. She is survived by her children, Willis Lawrence (Sandra), Donald Lawrence, Brenda Lawrence, Kenneth Lawrence (Janet), Marion Caldwell (Rob), twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and brother Robert H. Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Raymond Lawrence, four brothers; Ken, Watson, Mack, Bill, and two sisters; Georgia and Ruth. She was lovingly cared for in her last years by devoted caregivers Remy San Nicolas and Carmen Lisua.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 12pm, at Carolina Pines Baptist Church, 2655 S. Saunders St., Raleigh, NC 27603. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 11:45, at the church. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
