ANGIER – Mary Lewis Walters, 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Angier on Sunday, September 25th. She was born and lived her early life in the mountains of North Carolina until she moved to Raleigh where she met her husband of 61 years, Jimmy G. Walters. They drove a truck all over the United States to earn a living for their family that she loved very much.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 29th at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Burial will follow the service at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 28th from 6:00–8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Grover Cleveland Lewis and Margaret Harrell Lewis; her sister, Nancy Joann “Jody” Stephenson.
Mary is survived by her husband, Jimmy Walters; sister, Betty Jean Kirkpatrick of Raleigh; children, Wendy Champion, Jimmy Lewis Walters and wife, Debra, Pamela Tereace "Terry" Cole and Jason Walters, all of Angier; grandchildren, Jamie Mabry, Faith Cole, Toni Smith, Rochelle Clark, Tommy Terry, Kasey Terry, Kimber Williford and husband, Tim, Justin Walters, Joshua Walters and fiancé, Allison Trulove, Jalyn Walters and fiancé, Gage Holmes; great-grandchildren, Logan Williford, Landon Williford, Lukas Williford, Joshua Jr. Walters, Roselynn Holmes, Kelsey Davis, Avery Davis, Peyton O'Neal, Meredith Norris and Caleb Norris.
