ANGIER – Mary Lou Grizzard Duncan, 80, passed away at her home Friday morning. Spending most of her life in Angier, she was the daughter of the late James Grizzard and Addie Smith Grizzard. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 7th at 2:00 PM at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Angier. The family will receive friends at the home of Rhonda and Martin in Benson. The family requests that you wear a mask for the service and for visits to the home. Mary is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tommy Duncan; daughters, Lori Ibarra (Jimmy) of Coats, Rhonda Alvarado (Martin, Sr.) of Benson; sisters, Mildred Dunn of Angier, Margaret Lee of Angier; brothers, Robert Grizzard of Angier, Henry Grizzard (Kay) of Angier; grandchildren, Christopher Ibarra of Coats, Maria Issette (Jeffrey) of Bailey, Claudia Mozingo (A.J.) of Benson, Martin “Boo” Alvarado, Jr. of Benson; great-grandchildren, T.J. Johnson of Daphne, AL, Nadia Ibarra of Coats, Emma St. John of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Christopher St. John of Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Ryder Mozingo of Benson; special four legged baby, Sadie Mae. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Chase; brothers, William “Tinker” Grizzard and James Grizzard.
