Mary Gail Thomas Marshall

April 15, 1948 — March 31, 2024

Clayton – Gail Thomas Marshall passed away on March 31, 2024. Born April 15, 1948 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Elizabeth Baker Thomas and Arthur Henry Thomas. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Bradley Lee Thomas. Most of her life she lived in the Garner and Clayton area.


She is survived by a daughter, Kristin Marshall Hoffman (Kurt); granddaughter, Karleigh Elizabeth Hoffman; grandson, Kaden Adler Hoffman; half-brother, Dr. John A. Thomas; niece, Dr. Erin Thomas Horne (Daren); nephew, Jon Thomas (Beth); special sister-in-law, Cindy Thomas; and her former husband, Stacy C. Marshall.


She devoted her whole life to raising a very special daughter and, after her retirement from the NC Board of Nursing, she devoted her time to caring for her very special granddaughter, Karleigh and special grandson, Kaden.


The family will receive friends at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner on Wednesday, April 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. A Graveside Service will be held at Montlawn Memorial Park on Thursday at 12:00 P.M.


In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the UNC Rex Hospital Cancer Center, 2901 Blue Ridge Rd, Raleigh, NC 27607.
