Mary “Helen” Ragland

HOLLY SPRINGS- Mary “Helen” Ragland, 67, passed into the loving arms of God on July 9, 2015 at Oak Hill Living Center in Angier, NC, after a lengthy battle with dementia.  Mary Helen was born August 7, 1947 to the late Thomas Hayes and Maggie Lee (Barker) Ragland, of Holly Springs.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, William Harold Ragland (Brenda), and brother Kenneth Ray Ragland (Diane).  She is survived by her son, Randy (Nicki) and three grandchildren, Meredith, Colby, and Zack, of Apex, NC, her sister Deborah Ragland McFadyen (Archie) of Raleigh, brothers Thomas of Holly Springs, and Bobby (Boots) of Fuquay-Varina, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Mary Helen worked for many years with Almay Cosmetics in Apex, and later with WakeMed in Fuquay-Varina. She retired from Wake County Public Schools after 21 years of service.  She loved more than anything spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Deborah Cross and Linda Lucas, for the extensive, loving care they provided for Mary Helen during her illness. Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Fuquay-Varina, NC, on Saturday, July 11, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rick Carter officiating.  Arrangements are by Bryan-Lee Funeral Homes, Angier.
