Mary Jo Wallace

RALEIGH- Mary Jo Boykin Wallace, 80, passed away on Monday surrounded by her loving family. A native of Wake County, Mary was the daughter of the late Wade and Bertha Bailey Boykin. She was a 1953 graduate of Hugh Morson High School in Raleigh. Mary was a lifetime member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Raleigh. Mary worked for 20 plus years for the Town of Garner and the Garner Police Department retiring on December 22, 1997. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Master Sgt. Leslie Wallace; brothers, William Guilford Boykin and Wade Albert Boykin. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Wallace and wife, Kimberly of Garner; three granddaughters, Kassiedee, Kaycee, Keylee Wallace; brother, Charles Boykin and wife, Carolyn of Garner; brother-in-law, Pete Wallace of Columbus, OH; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. A visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Memorial Contributions may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 8304 Leesville Rd.
