Mary Lee Williams

October 7, 1923 — May 11, 2021

After an extraordinary, well-lived, and very full and active life, Mary Lee Marcom Williams was promoted to heaven on May 11, 2021. From the beginning to end, she was an absolute treasure; one that her family and friends will admire and appreciate forever. Funeral service Sunday May 16, 2021 at 1:30 PM at First Baptist Church of Garner. Burial to follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. She was born in Apex, NC on October 7, 1923 and was the daughter of Susie Angeline Cooper Marcom and Willie Sidney Marcom of Angier, NC. Left to cherish her memory is a very grateful son, Denwood (Denny), his wife Sherri and grandchildren Haley and Kyle. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Ann Marcom Byrd and sister, Sue Marcom Jones. Sue’s husband Billy and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Haywood Hales Williams, daughter, Dixie Lee Williams Jackson, son-in-law Hildon Lamar Jackson, sisters, Anna Ruth Marcom, Elizabeth Rose Marcom, Doris Marcom Carroll, Marie Marcom Sauls, Louise Marcom Glisson, Wilma Marcom Jordan and brother, Willie Gray (Billy) Marcom. Mary Lee was a vivacious and beautiful lady. She was always pristinely dressed from head to toe and loved jewelry, accessories and, of course, her lipstick. To the delight of her nieces and nephews, she made countless old-fashioned pound cakes for birthdays and special events. She made the absolute best garlic dill pickles and homemade vegetable soup. A positive, delightful, beacon of light in her church and community. Mary Lee was steadfast in her faith and commitment to her Lord and Savior. Her role as a mother was precious to her; and her family was her pride and joy. To know Mary Lee, was to know an angel. What an example she has been to us. The family would like to thank all the staff at Lawndale Manor Assisted Living in Garner, NC with a special thank you to Mia and Jody for their compassionate care of Mary Lee for the last several years. The family would also like to thank Amedisys Hospice nurse Deborah for her warm, tenderhearted care over the last few days of Mary Lee’s life. Words can never express the gratitude the family feels for the love and care that has been shown. The family will receive friends and relatives Sat. from 4-6 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
