Mary Lillie Boots Tudor

ANGIER- Comforted by family, Mary Lillie Tudor died peacefully Saturday, April 7. Nicknamed Boots by her father and the youngest of four, she was born April 10, Easter Sunday, 1927, to John C. and Bessie J. Brown of Lillington.In addition to her parents and siblings, Mary was predeceased by husband Wayne, who died in a 1982 car accident that left her with life-altering injuries. They were happily married for 36 years.Despite serious health issues following the accident, Mary remained active in community, church and volunteer endeavors until the final several months of her life.A gifted singer, pianist and organist, she served many years as choral and music director for Pleasant Union Church near Angier, and occasionally quipped that much of her life amounted to an endless audition for a place in heavens choir. Outside the church, Mary could also play a wicked ragtime piano in her younger years. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, sports and cooking legendary desserts.Mary is survived by son Rick and wife Amy; son Caulton and wife Inez (Diz); granddaughter Camille and fiance Stuart Peregoy granddaughter Victoria; dear friend Willie Mae Stokes. Visitation will be held Tuesday 1 p.m., April 10, at Pleasant Union Church, followed by funeral and burial services at 2 p.m.It was Marys wish that in lieu of flowers, gifts be made to any of the following: * Harnett Hospice (111 N.
