Matthew Christian Moore was born September 22, 2001, in Baltimore, MD. In October 2001 he was adopted by Tyler and Dianna Moore.
As a child he was very inquisitive, and he loved exploring, riding his bike, swimming, soccer, bodyboarding, skiing, and snowboarding. From 2001-12 Matthew lived in Glen Burnie, MD, San Angelo, TX, Hampton, VA, Clovis, NM, and Fort Washington, MD. During this period, he attended Gloria Dei Lutheran School in Hampton, VA, Clovis Nazarene School in Clovis, NM, and Potomac Landing Elementary School in Fort Washington, MD where he was a STEM student and saxophonist in 2011-12. At Potomac Landing he won 1st and 2nd Place in two music award competitions for playing the saxophone, and he played solo at his 6th Grade graduation.
In 2013 his family moved to Apex, NC, where he attended West Lake Middle School. Then he attended Middle Creek High School, where he ran track (100m dash and 4x100m relay) and played defensive back for the Middle Creek Mustangs football team. He graduated from Middle Creek in 2020.
As a teenager and young adult, Matthew loved playing the saxophone, football, running track, and grilling. Anyone who knew Matthew would tell you he was a great son, big brother, nephew, grandson, and a true friend. He also loved listening to old school R&B music.
Matthew was called home to be with the Lord on February 18, 2023. He is survived by his parents, his aunt Angela Gross, younger brother Joshua Moore, his grandaunt Mae Jones, his aunt and uncle Corine and James Smitherman, aunt and uncle Deborah and Dallas Pace, uncle Hezekiah Jackson, aunt and uncle Denise and Terry Moore, aunt Martella Moore, aunt and uncle Arnita and Melvin Moore, beloved family friend Anne-Moir Shelton, and a host of relatives and friends.
Although Matthew may have been called home by the Lord at the age of 21, his impact on others and his spirit is everlasting.
