Matthew K. Mcalpine

FUQUAY-VARINA - Matthew Kennedy McAlpine, 57, passed away on Monday at Wake Medical Center in Cary. A native of O’Brien County, Iowa, he was the son of the late Eugene Joseph McAlpine and Ruth Christopher McAlpine. Matthew enjoyed deep sea fishing, building things in his workshop and listening to his cd collection. One of the things Matthew enjoyed most was being around people. The things that he will be known for most would be his friendly personality and his contagious smile. Matthew especially enjoyed his time working at PPW Lumber in Apex and The Mantle Shop in Fuquay-Varina. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Michelle Frobeen ; sister, Mary Wolterman (Ralph) of Garnett, KS; brother, John McAlpine (Marlene) of Larrabee, IA; mother-in-law, Judy Frobeen of Mayadan; brother-in-law, Chris Frobeen (Tina) of Stoneville; nieces and nephews, Christina McAlpine of Cherokee, IA, Gracen Wolterman of Garnett, KS, Tony McAlpine of Cherokee, IA,  Cassie Youngers (Sean) of Madison, Troy Frobeen of Stoneville; great-nieces and nephews, Braxton, Alana, Ezra, Brexley and Kanoa. In addition to his parents, Matt is preceded in death by his brother, Mark McAlpine. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle Raleigh, NC 27607 in Matt’s memory.
