Mattie JoAnn Willis Ennis went home to be with the Lord in Garner, NC on Sunday July 7, 2024 at the age of 90. JoAnn passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. JoAnn was born on June 27, 1934 in Camilla, GA and raised in Tallahassee, FL.
JoAnn was proceeded in death by her parents, F.E. “Dutt” and Emma Kate Willis, her older brother, F.E. Willis Jr., and the love of her life and dear husband, Myron H. “Moon” Ennis DDS.
JoAnn is survived by her three sons, David F. Ennis, and wife, Teresa of Morehead City, NC and Ronald R. Ennis and wife, Debbie of Morehead City, NC and Clayton W. Ennis of Garner, NC. She is also survived by one brother, Benjamin Willis and wife, Eva of Citrus Heights, CA. JoAnn had four grandchildren and four great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
JoAnn was a member of First Baptist Church of Morehead City near her home, and also faithfully attended and participated at Mt. Zion Global Methodist Church when spending time with her son who lives in Garner, NC.
JoAnn was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She was always sharing a beautiful smile with everyone she met, never met a stranger, treated everyone like family, and loved to shop.
Her visitation will be in the Bryan-Lee Funeral home on Friday July 12, 2024, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
Her funeral service will be held in the Mt. Zion Global Methodist Church Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 12:00 pm. Burial to follow at 2:30 pm in the Willowdale Cemetery, 306 E. Elm Street Goldsboro, NC 27530.
