Maverine Beaman Taylor

RALEIGH – Maverine Beaman Tayler, 94, died at home on Wednesday. She was born in Four Oaks, NC to Stella and Sampson Allen. After graduating Four Oaks High School, Mrs. Taylor moved to Raleigh and worked at Hayes Barton Pharmacy. While in Raleigh, she met and married Nick Beaman (deceased) and they moved to Garner in 1949 and raised their three daughters there – Brenda B. Andrews (deceased), Beverly B. Adams, and Vicki B. Austin (deceased). Mrs. Taylor worked for NC State University Dairy Records Division. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 12th at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner with the Rev. Dr. Randy McKinney officiating. Guests are welcomed with masks and social distancing mandatory. Family will remain at the funeral home for 30 minutes after the service. A private graveside will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charlie C. Taylor; her daughter, Beverly Adams (Mike); her step-daughter Gail T. Higdon; two step-sons, Dean Taylor (Treatie) and Ronnie Taylor; her sister, Grace Stewart and daughter, Laura; her sister-in-law, Susie Allen. In addition, she is survived by son-in-law, David Andrews (Shirley) and Joe Austin; grandchildren, Scarlette Chappell (fiancé, Chris Fischer), Sharon Scott (Kevin), Karen Bass (Robbie), Nicki Kopsa (Thomas), Adam Austin (Nicole), Robbie Higdon, Mary Beth White (Chase), and Allison Cox (Blake) and eight great-grandchildren and another on the way, and by Misty Taylor (Jonathan Redmond). She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; two daughters; son-in-law, Earl Higdon, Jr; grandson, Frederick Dean Taylor, Jr.; brothers, Wilbert Allen (Pauline), Howard Allen (Clyde), and Walter Allen. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Mrs. Taylor’s memory to Longview Baptist Church, 2308 N. New Hope Road, Raleigh, NC 27604.
