Annie Mavis Beasley Denning, 92, died Tuesday. Born in Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Hal and Madie Beasley. She grew up learning to work hard. She was a devout Christian and loved to write poetry. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm prior to the service. Survivors include her daughter, Dale Hines of Garner; son, George W. Denning, Jr. (Susan) of Richmond, VA; sisters, Geraleen Rose of Rocky Mt, Sarah Garrett of Alabama, Betty Ray (Jay), Raleigh; Marie Blackwell (Kenneth) of Wendell and Rosa Johnson (Ray) of Smithfield; brother, Hal Beasley, Jr. of Statesville; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Denning, Sr.; sisters, Clara Langdon and Rebecca Beasley; brothers, Avery Beasley, James Beasley and Donald Beasley and her son-in-law, Fred Hines.
