Mavis Hatcher

Mavis Adams Hatcher, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior while surrounded by her loving family after being bedridden for almost seven years following a stroke. A native of Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Lee Adams and Dovie Wood Adams. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Raleigh. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. Mavis is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Deborah Kohlbeck and husband, Don; two grandchildren, Tracie Bray, Brian Bray and wife, Meredith; three step-grandchildren, Joshua Kohlbeck, Justin Kohlbeck and wife, Kay and Emily Kohlbeck; four great-grandchildren, Mia Guin, Jamison Bray, Jonah Bray, Layne Kohlbeck; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, John Raymond Hatcher, a son, Johnny, three sisters, Dorothy Arvin, Margaret Dillard, Peggy Whitaker; a brother, Herbert Lee (Red/Buddy) Adams, Jr.. The family expresses many thanks to Alice Lacewell who was our CNA and friend for four years. As well as Kay Hodge and Pat Holder who were always so faithful to remember Mavis with cards on every occasion. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
