Michael Dale Webb

October 7, 1950 — March 13, 2018

Clayton- MICHAEL DALE WEBB, 67, formerly of Pocomoke City, MD, passed away on March 13, 2018 at his home in Clayton, NC. A memorial service will be held at Bethany United Methodist Church in Pocomoke City, MD on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Reverend E. Thomas Northam of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church officiating. A private burial will follow. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mike was born in Salisbury, Maryland to Paige V. Webb, Sr. and Mabel B. Webb on October 7, 1950. He was a boy scout & a graduate of Pocomoke High School in 1968. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction from University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He worked as an Insurance Agent for Home Beneficial Life for 16 years and was part owner of Video Classics in Pocomoke. He later worked as a Building Inspector for Worcester County before his retirement. Mike enjoyed golf, fishing, and friends. He was passionate about all he did and was a true American patriot at heart. Mike was a long-time member of the Pocomoke Elks Club. He was a dedicated church member of both Remson UMC and Bethany UMC. During his time at Bethany, he was a member of the Board of Trustees, eventually becoming the Board President. He was also a member of the Bethany Cemetery Committee and, for a time, served as the Cemetery Chair. He loved singing in the choir and was a very active participant and strong supporter of the church. In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his sister Jackie Ponder and her husband Charles. Mike is survived by his 2 children: Melanie Steed (Robbie) of Rockwall, TX; Bryan Webb (Casandra) of Cary, NC; his 2 brothers: Paige, Jr. (Charlene) of Simpsonville, SC; and John Patrick (Cindy) of Newark, OH; an Aunt, Dorothy Webb of Pocomoke; and 3 grandchildren: Alexa Steed, Blake Steed, and Grady Webb as well as a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 205 Market Street (PO BOX 145), Pocomoke City, Maryland 21851.
