Michael Glen Morris

Michael Glen Morris, known as Glen to all, 66, of Raleigh, NC. passed away at his home on May 19, 2024 after a 2+ year battle with ALS.

He was born July 11, 1957 in Raleigh, NC to the late John & Marlene Morris. Glen was a Graduate of Garner High School and worked at Dail Enterprises (Hardee’s) for numerous years. He moved into Tire & Equipment Sales and made many friends through his years at: Heafner Tire, American Tire, Carroll Tire, and National Tire Warehouse.

Glen was often found at the ballfield and loved watching his son and grandkids play his favorite game. He loved his family and spending time with them. He was hard working but always dedicated time for his loved ones. Glen enjoyed fishing with friends, playing cards, and enjoyed beating his son in Backgammon. He enjoyed building and fixing things and could often be found tinkering in his garage. He loved his family and friends and had a heart to serve others.

Glen is survived by his wife of 45 years, Thelma Morris, sisters, Pam Maynard of Willow Spring, and Deborah Robinson of Smithfield; children, Jamie Firebaugh (Aaron) of Clayton, and Derrick Morris of Raleigh; grandchildren, Carter, Caleb & Catie Firebaugh. He was also a special son-in-law to Don and Kathleen Reynolds of Raleigh. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeffrey; sister, Barbara McLean; and granddaughter, Cameron Firebaugh.

The Visitation will be Thursday, May 23rd from 10:00-10:45am at Carolina Pines Baptist Church. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00am at the church and a graveside service will be at Montlawn Memorial Park following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to ALS United of NC, or Carolina Pines Baptist Church.
