Michael James Donnelly

CARY – Michael James Donnelly, 42, passed away on Wednesday at his home. Born in Wake County, he is the son of Mark Alan Donnelly and the late Amanda Joan Flood.

In addition to his father, Michael is survived by his grandmother, Joan “Nana” Flood; brother, Matthew Donnelly and wife, Tammy; sister, Malisa Jones and husband, Rodney; nieces, Abigail Jones, Sara Jones, Emma Jones, Brianna Donnelly, and Isabella Donnelly; nephew, Peyton Donnelly; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter Flood and James and Rita Donnelly.

Mike graduated from NC State University with an Associate degree in General Agriculture and an Associate degree Agribusiness Management. Mike enjoyed fishing, watching NC State Athletics, a good game of cards and loved his family. He was invited to a seat at the table for the World Poker Tour for Texas Holdem in Las Vegas. He was also the equipment manager for the NC State Football Team and was able to travel with the Wolfpack to the 2003 Gator Bowl.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 28th at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 301 E. McIver Street, Angier, NC 27501. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday, April 27th at the funeral home.
