Michael "Mike" Jay Hutzler

RALEIGH - Michael "Mike" Jay Hutzler, 66, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 18, 2023.

He was born in Nash County on November 14, 1956, to Robert M. Hutzler, Sr. and Emma Moore Hutzler, both of whom preceded him in death.

Mike was the owner and operator of Mike Hutzler Photography in downtown Raleigh where he specialized in wedding photography, sports photography at the YMCA, and commercial photography. Mike was partner and Manager of the longstanding family business, Mordecai Bridal & Tuxedo on Person Street. In addition, he was a long-time co-owner of Scooters Bar & Grill in Raleigh. An entrepreneur at heart, Mike will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his sons, Jay Hutzler, Jr., Brad Hutzler and spouse Steven Baker; brothers Bobby Hutzler, Ralph Hutzler and spouse Patti Hutzler, and a host of extended family.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023, in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Rd., Raleigh, with Monsignor Gerald Lewis officiating. Private interment will be held at Raleigh Memorial Park.
