Michael Scott Harrell

Raleigh - Michael Scott Harrell, 47 of Raleigh, died peacefully Thursday, October 27, 2022, at WakeMed Raleigh Campus.

Michael was a Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle, Teacher and Friend to many. He was a proud Raleigh, NC native, where he grew up, attended Garner High School, and ultimately spent 25 years teaching Health and Physical Education and Coaching at North Garner Middle School.

Michael was a die-hard Wolfpack fan and an avid music lover. He enjoyed cooking, being outdoors and fishing. Michael most of all enjoyed spending time with his boys and watching them play baseball. Anyone that knew Michael would tell you that he was one of the nicest, most giving people they’d ever met. His kindness and compassion for others will certainly be his legacy.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 4:00pm, at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 1201 Maxwell Dr. Raleigh, NC 27603. The family will receive friends and gather for a meal following the service.

Michael is survived by his wife, Ginger Moore Harrell; sons, Paul James (16) and Luke Michael (11) Harrell; father, Dennis Lee Harrell and wife, Glenda; mother, Sylvia Harrell; brothers, Jason Harrell and Brian Harrell and wife, Tanya; and nieces and nephews, Rachel, Carlee, Blake, and Brooke Harrell, Camrey Vest Morrison, and Camden Vest.
