Michael Trembley Cross

Raleigh - Michael Trembley Cross, 65, passed away on Monday. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. A private burial will take place at a later time. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday. Michael T. Cross age 65, passed away peacefully, December 30, 2019 after a six month battle with prostate cancer. He was a loving husband, brother, son, and uncle and was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Cross and his father, James Cross. Wife Susan, brother to Jim Cross (Debbie) and Loni Schuppert (Chris). Uncle to Matt Schuppert (Perla), Brigid Mejia (Eddie), Jeremy Pfeister (Katiera), and Emily Flunker (Ryan). Great Uncle to Harper and Lincoln Schuppert, Philip and Daniel Mejia, Micah and Sadie Flunker, Noah, Maggie and Annika Pfeister. In January, 2019 he celebrated 31 years of marriage to his loving wife, Susan. Mike retired in 2016 after spending most of his career in higher education administration at Johnston Community College, NC State, and California State University, Los Angeles. He loved to travel, work in the yard, go boating, and watch football. He was a lifelong Catholic, and he was an advisor to the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity while at NC State where he formed lifelong friendships. He lived out his generous spirit volunteering at the USO, and he loved every minute of it. He especially loved spending time with his nephews, nieces, great nieces, and great nephews.
