Mildred Cates Durham

Mildred Cates Durham, 74, passed away Friday at Duke-Raleigh Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born in Durham, NC, she was the daughter of the late Coy John Cates and Minervia Dunn Cates. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Entombment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Durham, NC. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Daniel E. Durham, Sr.; daughter, Lisa Durham Benz and husband, John; son, Danny Durham, Jr. and wife, Connie grandchildren, Chris Howell and wife, DeAnn, Danny Durham, III and Danielle Durham; great-granddaughter, Charissa Howell, all of Garner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Nancy Cates Buchanan. The family wishes to express their appreciation to staff of Duke-Raleigh Hospital, Liberty Hospice, The Oaks of Carolina, Southeast Wake Dialysis Center, Dr. Kenneth Holt, Dr. Joseph Falsone and Wake Nephrology for their kindness and professional care.
