Mildred Partin Honeycutt, 80, passed away Thursday after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Born and raised in Angier, she was the daughter of the late Yancy and Mary Cobb Partin. Mrs. Honeycutt was active in St. Johns Baptist Church, The Senior Club at Jenkins Memorial UMC and The American Legion Auxiliary. She was Girls State President for more than 25 years. Every Memorial Day weekend for many years, she distributed poppies in front of the K & W Cafeteria in CameronVillage. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Burial will follow at Harnett Devotional Gardens, Dunn, NC. The family will receive freinds at the funeral home on Saturday form 6-8pmSurvivors include daughters, Beverly Smith Coats of Fuquay and Cindy Smith Allen and husband, Willie of Clayton; grandsons, Adam and Matthew Coats and Clint Allen; sisters, Nelda Byrd and Elma Wall, both of Raleigh; brother, Willard Partin of Sanford, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Reba Webb and Janice Butler; brothers, Leo, Alonzo and Clayburn Partin.
