ANGIER- Minnetta Hart Morgan, 83, grew up in Angier, NC. She worked alongside her brothers and sisters on the family farm belonging to their parents, David Glenn and Estelle Parker Hart. After high school, she married her high school sweetheart, William James “Jay” Morgan and began working in the insurance industry, where she served the general public as an insurance agent for nearly 60 years. Her work in this capacity culminated in ownership of an independent insurance agency, which she ran for 10 years. She finally retired at age 76. She was also a lifelong member of Angier Baptist Church where she served in many capacities, including the Bereavement Committee. She was a woman of many talents but is probably best known for cooking delicious and comforting food. She loved to entertain a crowd, and nothing made her happier than watching people enjoy food that she had lovingly prepared.
She was also an avid square dancer, and she and Jay were members of several square dance clubs. At one time, they danced four nights a week in different locations. She made many lifelong friends through this hobby.
She is preceded in death by her sister Glenda Hart Sorenson of Lillington, NC and her brother Julian David Hart, of Bunnlevel, NC.
She is survived by her husband Jay to whom she was married for 64 years. She is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews; her sister, Bettie Hart Adams; and her brother, Franklin Delano Hart, both of Angier, NC. Finally, she is survived by her daughter and best friend, Denise Morgan Aslett and husband, Harry Aslett; and grand-dog, Fletcher.
Minnetta spent her entire life loving and caring for others, and she leaves for us all an example of a life well lived. We were privileged to know her and be loved by her. She will be missed but will live in our hearts forever.
