Murphy “Leo” Quinn age 86, passed away at Wake Medical on July 7, 2022, after several years of declining health. He was cared for to the end by his daughters Donna and Angie. He read his bible daily, prayed often and his faith was strong. The length of his final journey was also made possible by his wonderful Home Healthcare Nurse Shelley Blalock and support from Gina Shearer and Tina Godwin. These wonderful ladies and their talents allowed Daddy to live out the final years of his life in the home of his daughter Donna. The family will be forever grateful to this wonderful support team. Daddy was born on May 27, 1936, to the late Flossie Stiles and Kelly Lofton Quinn. After serving in the U.S. Army and stationed in Korea, he became an Automotive Body Repair Technician with a speciality of fiberglass work on Corvettes. He was also professionally trained in Outboard Motor repair for boats and had a love of boating and pier fishing at the beach. Daddy had a gift for gab and never met a stranger while telling stories to anyone willing to listen while cooking Bar B Q Chicken or fishing. Daddy lived most of his life in the Garner area and is survived by his family to include daughters Angie Q. Medlin (Leonard), Donna Q. Hunter (Mike), Jody Gardner (Ricky), Kimberly Williams, and Grandchildren Wyatt and Sydney Medlin, Michael Jr. and Hayden Hunter, Justin Quinn, Jenna Gardner and her two children Stella and Straton. He is also survived by sisters Linda Parker (Ray), Lynette Jones, Carlene Ferguson and brothers Danny Miller (Bonnie), Kelly Jr. (Angela) and many nieces and nephews. Daddy suffered a tremendous loss just two months ago and is proceeded in death by the unexpected passing of his son Michael. The family would like to thank Michael’s fiancee’ Karen Eason for her support and assistance in looking after Michael and dad. Also predeceased are two brothers Sammy Miller (Judy) and Henry Quinn (Gail) both of Virginia. There will be a private service for Daddy at a later date but Angie and Donna would like to personally thank all the family and friends that attended Michael’s service and who visited with Dad at that time. Even in his grief he enjoyed your visit and spoke often of your time together.
